This notice explains how your personal data is processed when you visit the jurnalkolektif.com website or contact us by e-mail, as required by Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”).

Data Controller

The data controller under the KVKK is Jurnal Kolektif. For questions and requests about your personal data, you can write to [email protected].

Personal Data We Process

• Contact details and correspondence: When you contact us by e-mail, your name and surname, your e-mail address and the content of your message.
• Visit statistics: Information such as the pages you view, the time you spend on the site, your device and browser type, your approximate location (country and city level) and the source you came to the site from. This information does not identify you by name; it only shows us overall usage trends.
• Technical connection logs: Records such as IP address, browser information and date and time of access, kept by the server and security infrastructure so that the site runs securely and without interruption.

Purposes and Legal Grounds

• Responding to your contact, collaboration and service requests: the processing is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract, and the data controller's legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5/2-c and Art. 5/2-f).
• Keeping the site secure, preventing misuse and fixing technical problems: legitimate interest and compliance with legal obligations (KVKK Art. 5/2-f and Art. 5/2-ç).
• Understanding how the site is used and improving its content (anonymous visit statistics): the data controller's legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5/2-f). This measurement is carried out only at the level of aggregate statistics, with due regard for your fundamental rights and freedoms.
• Advertising cookies (advertising measurement): only with your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1). Consent is given with the Accept option in the cookie banner and can be withdrawn at any time.

How We Collect Data

Your personal data is collected through e-mail correspondence, automatically through your browser while you visit the site, and through statistics cookies; advertising cookies are used only if you give your consent.

Transfers and Transfers Abroad

Your personal data may be shared, only for the purposes above, with the suppliers that provide the site's hosting, content delivery, security and technical maintenance, its e-mail service and its visit statistics service (Google Analytics), and with authorised public institutions where required by law.

The typefaces used on the site (Hurme Geometric Sans) are loaded from the site's own server. Under the typeface licence, a counting request is sent to MyFonts (Monotype Imaging Inc.) each time a page is opened; with this request your IP address, your browser information and the address of the site the request comes from are passed to MyFonts.

Because the servers of Google, MyFonts and the hosting/security service providers are located abroad, this data is transferred abroad within the scope of Article 9 of the KVKK. Transfers are made only for the purposes stated in this notice and only to the extent necessary.

Your data is not sold. Advertising cookies are activated only if you choose the Accept option.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit save in your browser. This site uses three types of cookies:

• Necessary cookies: tk_cerez_onay remembers your cookie preference and is kept for 7 days. When needed, the site's security infrastructure may also set short-lived security cookies (e.g. cf_clearance) to tell malicious traffic apart. During the typeface counting request, the MyFonts infrastructure may also set a short-lived security cookie (__cf_bm) on its own domain.
• Statistics cookies (Google Analytics): _ga and _ga_<id> tell visits apart to produce statistics showing how many people use the site and how, and are kept for up to 2 years. They are used whichever option you choose in the cookie banner.
• Advertising cookies (Google advertising measurement): cookies starting with _gcl_* and _gac_*. They are set only if you choose the Accept option in the cookie banner.

If you choose Statistics Only, no advertising cookies are set and no data is shared for advertising; only the necessary cookie and statistics measurement that does not directly identify you continue. If you choose Accept, advertising cookies are activated as well. In both cases Google signals and personalised advertising are turned off. Visit data in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months.

The site's security and performance infrastructure may also produce aggregate visit statistics that do not identify you, without using cookies.

You can change your cookie preference at any time: Change my cookie preference. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Retention Period

Your personal data is kept for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the retention periods set out in the applicable legislation; at the end of these periods it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it,
• learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose,
• know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom your data is transferred,
• request correction if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
• request deletion or destruction of the data under the conditions of Article 7 of the KVKK,
• request that the correction, deletion and destruction be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred,
• object to a result against you arising from analysis of the data exclusively by automated systems,
• claim compensation if you suffer damage because the data is processed unlawfully.

Applications

You can send your requests concerning these rights by e-mail to [email protected], in line with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller. Your request will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible, depending on its nature, and within 30 days at the latest.
